WHEN YOU PRAY: Enrich the Earth!

Our 2016 focus is to understand that we are ENRICHED by God to enrich the lives of others. God has given us more authority in this realm than we realize!

Isa 9:6 For to us a child is born…and the government will be on his shoulders… NIV

Jesus is the head of the church and we are the body of Christ. Notice the government and authority of God rests upon the body of Christ, not the head. We have a great responsibility to embrace and express this authority releasing God’s Kingdom in the earth. Jesus came so we could be sent. We see this expressed in the Old Testament as well when God appeared to Moses.

Ex 3:8-10 I have come down to rescue (the Israelites)…their cry has reached me…10 So now, go. I am sending you…

I am part of God’s plan to bring God’s Kingdom to this earth!

September 11th we will be hosting a Discover Destiny Luncheon for those interested in understanding more about God’s desires in regard to our role as a church family. Together we more effectively experience God’s enrichment in our lives so we can more effectively enrich our world, leaving our world a better place.

Some people walk into a room and look for people to greet and encourage. Some people walk into a room wondering if anybody will notice them or speak to them. We are blessed by God! Rather than walking through this life waiting for somebody to be a blessing to us we should be walking confidently in God’s blessing extending that blessing in every direction, in every room we ever walk into and to every person who is ever in our path! STOP LOOKING TO MAN FOR SOMETHING GOD ALREADY GAVE YOU. Give to others and God will give you more, it’s just the way it works!

Stop focusing on what you think others are supposed to be providing for you & start focusing on what God has called you to provide for others! There is nothing more painful than two selfish people in a relationship. There is nothing more beautiful than two servants in love.

It is a trick of the enemy to get you to waste energy being frustrated about things you can’t control causing you to neglect the things you are called to control. You have been enriched by God with authority to enrich the lives of others!

GOD ASKS US TO DO SOMETHING

Isa 35:3-4 Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; 4 say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come…to save you.”

AFTER WE DO WHAT WE ARE CALLED TO DO THEN GOD WILL DO WHAT ONLY GOD CAN DO.

Isa 35:5-6 Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. 6 Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert. NIV

We have been enriched by God with authority to enrich the lives of others! This is all about moving beyond merely existing to truly living.

ICEBREAKER: If you could change one thing about yourself, what would that be?

ISAIAH 9:6 For to us a child is born…and the government will be on his shoulders… NIV

Jesus is the head of the church and we are the body of Christ. The government and authority of God rests upon the body of Christ, rather than the head. God is always looking for men and women to commission to his work in the earth.

EXODUS 3:8-10 I have come down to rescue (the Israelites)…their cry has reached me… So now, go.   I am sending you…

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:

1.    Share a time when God has called you to provide for someone.

2.    What are some specific ways God calls us to enrich the lives of others?

God enriches us with authority to enrich the lives of others naturally and supernaturally! Notice our call in Isaiah is to strengthen and encourage:

ISAIAH 35:3-4 Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come…to save you.”

After we do what we are called to do then God will do what only God can do.

ISAIAH 35:5-6 Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. 6 Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert. NIV

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:

1.    Share how you have experienced God’s transformation in a specific area of your life.

2.    What are the differences between merely existing and truly living?

GP4RL PRAYER STRATEGY:

1.     Pray daily, asking the Holy Spirit for awareness to his promptings.

2.     Select your favorite worship song to wake up to in this season.

3.     Play the song as soon as you wake with your prayer list in hand.

4.     Obey the promptings of the Lord throughout your day – practice!

5.     Consider fasting and prayer weekly.

GOING A LITTLE DEEPER:

Augustine said, “He who created you without you will not justify you without you.” ~Augustine Some things in our world and in our lives simply will not come to pass if we do not pray. We must get into a place of cooperation with God regarding his desires for our world.

Jesus is revealed in Scripture as the “Son of God” and the “Son of man”. Jesus revealed as the Son of God speaks of citizenship in heaven. Jesus revealed as the Son of man speaks of dominion in the earth. We are born of the earth but born again of the spirit or of heaven. We carry citizenship in heaven while possessing dominion in the earth. This is what makes us such a threat to the enemy.

When citizenship and dominion come into agreement heaven and earth come into alignment. God does not have access without our consent. It is his will to save us and he already did everything to do so but until we pray and accept the finished work of Christ on the cross we won’t be saved.
